WHERE TO FIND IT
FEATURES (for both Revenue Reporting + License Reporting)
-
Period selection: Select the month you’d like to take a closer look at - this is so that you can take a good look at popular SaaS metrics like Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR).
-
Revenue Portal (the viewing area of the data)
- Filter by Account/Product Name: Type in a particular account or product name to filter the portal view.
- Order alphabetically: Applies to the following columns: Account Name, Product Name & Currency. Simply press on the column itself - the first time it orders alphabetically, the second time it orders reverse alphabetically, and the third time it returns to its initial order.
- Pinning columns: If you’d like to pin a column so that it freezes in the portal view while you scroll to the right, press the hamburger menu beside the column, and press “pin column”.
- Draggable columns: Each column is draggable - this is so you can rearrange your portal view according to your convenience. For instance, if you’d like to place “currency” before the Salesforce ID, you can do so by simply dragging it to the left of the Salesforce ID.
- Filter view options: Want to optimize the fields on your portal view? Select/deselect columns as you please.
- Download button: Download the portal view in CSV format.
- Refresh button: This button is essential when caching, or server issues can cause glitches. Refreshing the portal ensures all the data is properly synced.
Revenue Reporting
- Different colored rows:
- Green rows: If there is a new entry to the invoice that wasn’t there in the previous recurring cycle, this is displayed in a green row.
- White rows: If the entry was there in the previous recurring cycle and in the current recurring cycle, this is displayed in a white row.
- Red rows: If there is an old entry to the invoice that was there in the previous recurring cycle, but no longer in the current recurring cycle, this is displayed in a red row.
BENEFITS
- Analyse fluctuation in MRR and ARR, and better understand variances in these metrics for your customers and products.
- Churn can be spotted from a distance with variances - you can better prepare for customer retention, etc.
License Reporting
-
Stopped/Churned rows
- Stopped: You will see STOPPED if payments for a subscription stop, but when it is one of multiple subscriptions for the same product/customer.
- Churned: You will see CHURNED if payments for a subscription stop, but there are no other active subscriptions for the same product/customer.
SPECIFIC USE CASES:
- Seeing STOPPED in multiple rows: If a customer’s subscription has a subscription period of 6 months, but after 2 months, the payment stops, until the end of the subscription period (i.e., 4 months), you will see STOPPED in those 4 columns.
- Seeing STOPPED for a few months before it turns to CHURNED: If the subscription period for a particular subscription was 6 months, but the payment stops after 2 months, then for the remainder of the subscription period (i.e., 4 months), you will see stopped. However, if this is the last active subscription for the customer, then on the last column, instead of STOPPED, you will see CHURNED.
-
Red/Green/Blue Text
- Red: When you see particular columns with red text, this means the subscription plan has degraded, compared to the previous month.
- Green: When you see particular columns with green text, this means the subscription plan has upgraded, compared to the previous month.
- Blue: This is when there is a new subscription.
BENEFITS
- Proactively manage downgrades and churn, and see which products and customers are growing.
- When a product has been marked as “stopped”, you can find proactive ways to retain them.
